FROM CUSTER COUNTY/MILES CITY UNIFIED COMMAND:

6-18-20

Due to the rising number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in our community and to prevent further spread of the virus, the Custer County Board of Health and the Health Officer are strongly RECOMMENDING that, effective immediately, and for the next two weeks:

  • All local businesses, athletics, community events and assemblies return to the restrictions we had in place under phase one of the Governor’s directive for re-opening the Big Sky.

  • To support our public health nurses, the Montana National Guard will be here on Friday June 19th and Saturday June 20th to help run a free drive-through testing event at the Eastern Montana Fairgrounds.

  • At this point, our priority is to slow the spread within Custer County and safeguard those people who are vulnerable and likely to become severely ill once infected.

The best ways of doing this are to:

  • Stay home if you are not feeling well, even with mild symptoms, and contact your healthcare provider

  • Wash/sanitize your hands frequently

  • Wear a face covering when out in public

  • Avoid traveling, unless essential
